Description:
The collection contains the research materials used to complete the Geothermal Resource Impact Projection Study (G.R.I.P.S.). The GRIPS Commission was established by a Joint Powers Agreement between the California counties of Lake, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma on February 7, 1978 after nearly four years of planning. The entity was created by the counties, both singly and together, to prepare for the future possible expanded development of the geothermal resources of the Geysers-Calistoga Known Geothermal Resources Area (KGRA). Objectives included the development and use of a cooperative environmental data collection system covering natural, social, and economic considerations.
