Joye Harold Severaid specialized in mammology and the natural history of the Sacramento area. An active conservationist, Dr. Severaid served on the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Zoological Society and co-edited the society’s bulletin. He also served as President and Chair of the Save the American River Association and was the CSUS representative to the 58th National Audubon Society Convention in 1962. The collection consists of reports, correspondence, diaries, maps, and photographs.
