San Diego (Calif.) -- Pictorial works
Artist and poet G. Hamilton Hammon was a resident of San Diego during the 1930s. Hammon, who was also an artist and poet, compiled the scrapbook and included fair copies of original manuscript poems, as well as striking hand-painted vignettes of San Diego scenes. Several photographs are also present. Most poems are dated and give a place of composition. Most places are in California; the last poem is from Sydney, Australia, and dated 1911. Of particular interest is a hand-colored photograph of The Krishnamurti Camp, Ojai Valley, California, circa 1930.
