The La Jolla Shores Association was formed in 1966. Still active today, it is made up of volunteers who live, own property, or own/operate a business in La Jolla, CA. The association was formed to protect the architectural and environmental character of the La Jolla area, allowing it to maintain its distinctive identity as one of Southern California's coastal communities. The La Jolla Shores Association collection documents the history of the association from 1926-1973, with the bulk of the materials created from 1964-1972.
