19th Century Newspaper Collection

19th Century Newspaper Collect

San Diego State University
Library and Information Access
American newspapers
The 19th-Century Newspaper Collection was used as a teaching tool by two professors of communications at San Diego State University in their respective classes: Barbara Hartung, Ph.D., now professor emerita, and Diane L. Borden, Ph.D. The collection is arranged alphabetically by newspaper title, with the exception of The New York Mirror, the editions of which are filed separately in one box. While the edition of the New York Herald is a facsimile copy, the others within the collection appear to be originals. The edition of the New York Herald is dated 15 April 1865 and includes articles about the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.
