Farmer and weather observer in Lindsay, Calif. He was one of the first to grow oranges and lemons in the San Joaquin Valley. Basil Prior's diaries comprise the bulk of the collection. Spanning the period from 1894 to 1956, they include daily activities on the ranch, the early development of Lindsay, family matters, weather observations, and newspaper clippings. The collection also includes a number of photograph albums and loose photographs.
