Photographer and sailor; worked for Madera Sugar Pine Company and photographed everyday life in the logging community; became the second man to sail around the world alone, completing the journey in 1925. The collection consists of photographs, original and reprints, of everyday life in the early logging community of Sugar Pine in the Sierra Big Trees area. They depict Harry Pidgeon and his equipment, people, buildings, vehicles, scenery, logging operations, Raymond Quarry, Happy Camp, Fish Camp, and sequoia trees. Also included is an audiocassette, Allen Harder's comments on the Harry Pidgeon photographs, and a copy of Pidgeon's book, Around the world single-handed.
